What is necessary for using Google Pay functionality?

The user should:

  • have a mobile phone registered with the Bank;
  • set up phone locking with one of the methods enabled on the device – a password, pattern, fingerprint, face scanning;
  • have a device with the NFC technology with the Android operating system of minimum 5.0 version (Lollipop) installed;
  • set up Google account on your device.
How to install Google Pay on an android mobile device?
  • Download Google Wallet application from Google Play Store, free of charge, and install it on your android mobile device.
  • Adding card to Google Wallet application for Google Pay functionality means entering the card number, date of expiry of the card, CVC code ( a three-digit number printed on the back of the card, i.e. on the stripe signed) and entering basic data on the User.
  • After registration and acceptance of the Terms and Conditions for using Google Pay functionality, the User receives one-off verification code to the mobile phone number registered with the Bank that he/she should enter in the field envisaged for the entry.
  • The User has a possibility to add more than one card to Google Wallet application. The first card that is added by the User becomes a primary card for payment. The User may additionally set up and change the card that will be a primary one.
How does Google Pay function?

Google Pay uses the NFC technology on android mobile devices on which it is supported. The Near Field Communication (NFC) is a technology that enables a wireless transfer of data at short distances between the two devices. In order to make payments, the User has to switch on the NFC on his/her android mobile device. When the User wants to make a payment, he/she should switch on a light on the screen on his/her mobile device and hold it directly close to a POS terminal. The data on the payment are sent from the android mobile device to the POS terminal through the NFC hardware. A digitalized card may be used also for withdrawing cash at ATMs that have contactless readers. It is necessary that the User holds an android mobile device closer to the contactless reader and follows the instructions on the ATM’s screen. For the realization of a transaction it is necessary that the User enters a PIN of the payment card that he/she has chosen in Google Wallet application.

How are contactless payments made at POS terminals?
  • An additional transaction validation for an amount not higher than RSD 4,000 is not necessary in Serbia, it is sufficient to switch on a light on the screen of an android mobile device and lean it on a POS terminal.
  • For higher amounts or several consecutive lower amounts it is necessary to unlock a mobile device. The identity of the User is verified by unlocking the mobile device, i.e. that the User is the one who uses a digital card. Only the owner of the android mobile device can know the method for unlocking the phone – a password, pattern, fingerprint, face scanning.
Mandatory security measures

For safety reasons the User is obliged to treat his/her mobile phone with due care and take reasonable measures to protect and keep the personalized security elements stored in a digital wallet confidential.

For safety reasons, the User undertakes:

  • not to add his/her cards to the digital wallet located on the mobile device of another user;
  • not to use safety setups (a password, secret number, envisaged form, etc.) for accessing (unlocking) a mobile device in a manner that other persons cannot recognize or connect them with the user on the mobile device to which he/she added or plans to add a digitalized card of the Bank;
  • not to make safety setups (a password, secret number, envisaged form), opted for accessing (unlocking) the mobile device to which the digitalized payment card is added or planned to be added, available to other persons;
  • not to allow other persons to have access to a mobile device by taking care of his/her biometric data (fingerprint, face scanning, etc.)

If there are any doubts that the others are aware of the safety setups (a password, secret number, envisaged form, etc.) for accessing a mobile device holding a digitalized card, the User must replace them without any delay.

Can the same Mastercard payment card be entered into Google Wallet application on several android mobile devices?

One User can enter his/her Mastercard payment card into Google Wallet application on several android mobile devices.

What is the fee for this functionality?

The bank does not charge any fee for this functionality.

What is the limit on the Mastercard payment card entered into Google Wallet application?

A digitalized card that is entered in Google Wallet application uses the same limit that is set on a physical payment card.

What is happening to a digitalized card registered for Google Pay functionality if a physical card is blocked?

Blockade of a physical card results in an automatic blockade of a digitalized card registered with Google Pay, whereas a card blockade in Google Pay does not result in a blockade of a physical card.

What should be done in case of losing an android mobile device?

You are obliged to call immediately a phone number indicated on the back of a physical payment card, i.e. the following phone number: +381112020292, and inform the bank of losing, stealing or misusing your android mobile device where Google Wallet application is installed.

What should be done in case of replacing a physical Mastercard payment card?

If the bank has, for any reason, replaced the payment card that the User has registered for Google Pay functionality, it is necessary that the User adds a new payment card to Google Wallet application.
